We are deeply saddened by the attack on our Muslims brothers and sisters on the streets of London. The Canadian Muslim Alliance sends their condolences to the family of the deceased and our thoughts and prayers are with the families of the victims of this brutal and senseless terrorist attack outside the Muslim Welfare House.
This act of terror has no place in any civilized society. Islam is a religion of peace. The memory of the Quebec Mosque shooting is still fresh in the minds of many Canadian Muslims. The Canadian Muslim Alliance urges all Canadians, Muslims and otherwise, to stand united against hatred and intolerance, and to stay vigilant and report any suspicious behaviour or activities to the police and law enforcement agencies.
We laud the Canadian government for recognizing that Islamophobia is a real phenomenon, and we urge the Canadian government along with governments and citizens throughout the world to work hand in hand to prevent all forms of radicalization, and to strive to counter the ignorance which triggers such hatred.
